German inflation remains elevated
The German Federal Statistical Office said the consumer price index is expected to reach an annual average of 2.2 percent. For the month of December, inflation is expected to rise 2.8 percent, based on initial information from six of Germany's 16 states, it said. Prices for food and fuel have blamed for the sudden rise in inflation.
